It is with great sadness that the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association learnt of the death of Councillor Christopher Underwood-Frost.
Chris was a dedicated, passionate and hard-working County and District Councillor and will be sadly missed by people living in the Scotter area, his Colleagues, and by our Association.
Chris was a dedicated representative, fighting for the people he represented right up to the end. He was first elected to West Lindsey District Council in 1999 and was subsequently re-elected in 2003, 2007 and 2011. At the 2007 local elections Chris was re-elected to his seat when, tied with the Liberal Democrat candidate, both having received 781 votes, the peculiarities of the electoral system came into play and Chris secured re-election by virtue of a coin-toss.
In 2001 he was successful during the local elections to Lincolnshire County Council in gaining the seat for the Scotter Rural Division, securing re-election in 2005, 2009 and, most recently, in 2013.
In the 2004-2005 Civic Year he served as Chairman of West Lindsey District Council. From December 2009 he served with distinction as Chairman of West Lindsey District Council’s Planning Committee, a role he relinquished in September 2013. He also served on the Lincolnshire Police Authority.
We offer our deepest sympathy to the family at this sad time.
