A Conservative-led council in Lincolnshire is set to invest in a commercial enterprise park to provide leasehold opportunities for business tenants.
West Lindsey District Council plans to purchase 6,000sq ft of workspace on the Riverside Enterprise Park, Saxilby. The announcement means Stirlin Developments, Castle Square Developments and Lambert Smith Hampton will be working closely with the council on Phase 3 of the development.
The 5.8 acre development has been constructed by Lincoln-based firm Stirlin Developments off Skellingthorpe Road in Saxilby and will provide commercial industrial / office premises.
Conservative Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr. Jeff Summers said:
“We are delighted to be able to invest in this exciting, high quality development in West Lindsey.
“As well as creating another revenue stream for the council we will be increasing the work opportunities for residents and providing that essential work space for budding entrepreneurs to flourish and supporting other businesses to relocate.
“Small businesses cannot always afford to build/purchase their own premises and the principle of developing small workspace units to accommodate new and expanding SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) in order to generate jobs and wealth in our district is supported.
“This is all part of our investment strategy. Economic Growth is our new mantra for 2018. Breaking ground and creating opportunities for 2019.”
The council’s Corporate Policy and Resources Committee approved the decision to invest in the development in December. They approved to invest in the 6,000 sq ft light industrial development scheme to provide leasehold opportunities for tenants.
It will comprise:
- 3 x 1,000 sq ft,
- 1 x 1,500 sq ft
- 2 x 750 sq ft units
Riverside Enterprise Park has continued to grow from strength to strength, proving to be very popular with local commercial businesses. Mr. James Kirby Managing Director Stirlin Developments commented:
“West Lindsey District Council’s decision further supports the economic investment we have made in the area. Riverside Enterprise Park offers high quality business accommodation, excellent transport links with close proximity to Lincoln. The transformation of the site has been very pleasing and following on from Phases 1 and 2, the development now offers exciting Design and Build opportunities.”
Mr. Matthew Johnson Associate Director Lambert Smith Hampton commented:
“West Lindsey Council’s support and confidence in the location, further endorses Riverside Enterprise Park’s credentials, as being one of the leading commercial business parks within the area. The site is a hive of activity, with Phase 2 currently being completed and new occupiers taking occupation in the new year, watch this space!”
