Conservatives from both the Lincoln and the Gainsborough constituency associations have listened with intereset to a ralling call to take more interest in the referendum taking place in Scotland on Thursday, 18th September 2014, which will determine if Scotland becomes an independent country.
Local supporters came together at the Old Palace Hotel, Minster Yard, Lincoln to listen to Mr. Alberto Costa, an expert on the issues surrounding the Scottish Independence Referendum, was introduced by our Chairman, Stephanie Rouse.
Mr. Costa was raised, educated and worked in Glasgow, where he attended the University of Glasgow graduating Master of Arts (Distinction) and Bachelor of Laws. Thereafter, he gained the Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the prestigious University of Strathclyde Graduate Law School. He ably demonstrated his in-depth understanding of the machinery of Whitehall and of the political decision making processes at Westminster, Holyrood and the devolved assemblies in Cardiff and Belfast. Those attending were left in no doubt that a 'yes' vote represents a significant threat to our way of life in Lincolnshire.
Guests enjoyed a three course menu of Tomato, Basil and Mozzarella Bruschetta to start, followed by Roasted Breast of Chicken with a mushroom, shallot and tarragon sauce and to finish Cheese Cake with mascarpone and honey, served with raspberry compote. Tea or Coffee followed with mints as Mr. Costa addressed those present and took questions. Cllr. Marc Jones, the Chairman of the Lincoln Conservative Association, provided a vote of thanks.
