Cllr. Burt Keimach, Conservative Leader of West Lindsey District Council, has said he wants to continue to deliver for the people of West Lindsey and is pleased to do so with his current team.
“We have a cohesive and energetic collection of councillors in our ruling Conservative Group. These qualities have been recognised by people who want their vote to count for something meaningful and positive. This was expressed by their support for the candidates we offered last year . At our Conservative Group meeting we were painstaking and rigorous in choosing and approving members to head up the Council's committees based on each individual's strengths and experience of many years service to the community. At next month's annual meeting of the Council I fully expect an endorsement so that we may complete our Administration's voyage of success.
“In uncertain times local people want the reassurance of stability. We have been offering that essential quality through last year’s switch to fourth yearly council elections, and then by keeping our part of the council tax frozen for this year, and last.”
Cllr. Keimach was commenting following his successful re-election as Leader of West Lindsey District Council's Conservative Group. Reflecting on the past twelve months, Cllr. Keimach said:
“My administration has had a good start; and we have ambitious and affordable plans for the coming months and years ahead to improve West Lindsey for all who work and live in our District. We don't always get everything perfectly right first time – which is why, for example, we are committed to looking at the changes we made to the green bin collection schedule over the winter months and tweaking the start and finish on an as-needed yearly basis.
Our new computer-based way of working has saved ratepayers further thousands of pounds, enabling us to deliver on our promises of no cuts to front line services, and no forced job losses. I am hoping to have some very positive news to announce in the coming months in addition to the launch of our community funds totalling £1.5 million. We believe in putting taxpayers’ cash back in to our towns and villages and will continue exploring the best ways of doing just that.”
