A Gala Luncheon held in honor of Sir Edward Leigh's 30 years as Member of Parliament for the Gainsborough Constituency was a wonderful occassion and huge success.
Dozens of supports from the past to the present attended a superb luncheon at the Old Palace Hotel, Minster Yard, Lincoln on Friday, 21st June.
Minister without Portfolio, John Hayes MP, who is a senior advisor to the Prime Minister joined another Lincolnshire parliamentarian, Martin Vickers MP in paying tribute to Sir Edward. They were joined by Cllr. Mrs. Irmgard Parrott, the Chairman of West Lindsey, who performed the Loyal Toast, and her consort together with district and county councillors, party officers and officials. Mrs. Stephanie Rouse, the Chairman, presented both Sir Edward and Lady Leigh with a cut crystal bowl to mark the occassion.
The Prime Minister, David Cameron MP, sent a congratulatory letter, a copy of which is included within the Programme, whcih can be downloaded from the 'Attachements' section below.
Diners enjoyed a canapé reception and glass of fizz on arrival followed by a two course lunch of Darne of Salmon witha Tarragon Beurre Blanc followed by Summer Pudding with Vanilla Pod Ice Cream.
