Nettleham Cricket Club has benefited from new pitch covers thanks to £500 funding from Conservative District Councillor for Nettleham Giles McNeill's Councillor Initiative Fund which helped secure additional funding from the English Cricket Board and sponsorship from Just Audi VW, of Outer Circle Drive, Lincoln.
Welcoming the installation of the new covers at the cricket club's home of Mulsanne Park, Nettleham, Cllr. McNeill said:
“I am very pleased to have supported Nettleham Cricket Club. Helping local sporting clubs is vital in making sure that West Lindsey is a place where people can pursue active, healthy lives by choice. It is also important to support a wide range of people and the cricket club are an example fielding teams of both genders and of all age ranges.”
Nettleham Cricket Club were able to secure a grant of £2,500 from the English Cricket Board's England & Wales Cricket Trust, Small Grant Scheme whilst the club have negotiated a sponsorship deal with Just Audi VW who have their logo printed on the covers. The total cost of the new covers was around £4,500 with the remainder of the cost of the new covers being picked up by the club. David Wheatley, the Nettleham Cricket Club's Development Officer, added:
“Without this generous support we would not have been able to undertake the project.”
