Sir Edward Leigh, the Member of Parliament who represents Scampton as part of his Gainsborough constituency, has welcomed the conclusion of the first Scampton Air Show.
Sir Edward said:
“I am delighted to have been to the Scampton Air Show this weekend. I lobbied hard for the show to be retained in the county after it became clear that RAF Waddington was becoming unsuitable, because of operational requirements. It has been a wonderful opportunity to put our part of Lincolnshire on the map and highlight West Lindsey as a place to live, work and visit. I very much hope that the show will return next year and in future years too.”
Sir Edward was speaking following the conclusion of the first Scampton Air Show that saw over 50,000 people attend, 104 aircraft participate.
