Sir Edward Leigh, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Gainsborough, has welcomed new figures released which showed a further drop in the number of unemployed people in his constituency.
“The statistics to the end of June 2015 show 1,208 people claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, down 48 on the previous month, here in the Gainsborough constituency. Unemployment is down 20.6 per cent, with 314 more people now in work, than in June last year.”
“Whilst nationally the figures have shown a slight increase in the rate of unemployment, between May and June this year – the first since October 2012 – I am pleased to say that we are not following the national trend and have continued to get people into jobs, locally.”
