Local Conservatives have met with Highways Portfolio Holder at Lincolnshire County Council, Cllr. Richard Davies, who visited Gainsborough, to hear the concerns raised from residents about the street lights being turned off from midnight to 6am in certain areas of the town.
Cllr. Davies met with local councillors Ashley Perraton-Williams and Sheila Bibb. Cllr. Perraton-Williams confirmed the issue would be reviewed in summer, he said:
“He was keen to offer his assurances that real and meaningful change can be facilitated in those areas where the lighting changes are having a measurable effect on the safety of property or people.”
Cllr Davies added:
“I’m grateful to Shelia and Ashley for the opportunity to talk to them about the issues in their areas.
“Gainsborough is a key urban area in the town and whenever we make changes to services it’s important that we listen to the public.
“They are both passionate representatives of the town and I’m sure they won’t be backward in coming forward when we study the impacts of the changes in the summer.”
