Sir Edward Leigh, the Member of Parliament for the Gainsborough Constituency – which includes the town of Wragby – has welcomed members of the local scouts to the Westminster Parliament, as they visited as part of obtaining their Expedition Badge.
Encouraging young people to engage in politics is vital for the future health of our democracy, Sir Edward said:
“It has always been important to me that I have young people from across the constituency visit our UK Parliament, to help them understand the place of this great institution in our constitutional monarchy.
“The Scouts that visited were excellent ambassadors of their packs and group and a credit to the young people of the constituency.”
Leader, Mr. Graham Turner commented:
“It was absolutely amazing seeing where the Prime Minister sits and the kids enjoyed themselves.”
The scouts also visited London’s Natural History Museum.
