Local Conservatives have been delighted to gain the East Lindsey District Council seat in the Wragby Ward in the local elections.
The election of Cllr. Nick Guyatt, the Conservative Party's candidate, breaks a long-running period of dominance by Independents in the area. The contest had been a two way fight between the Conservative and Independent. Nick won with an impressive 55.2% of the vote and securing for himself a majority of 149. Conservative Agent, Giles McNeill said:
"This is a terrific result for the Conservatives of the Gainsborough Constituency, and in particular Nick. He is a man of considerable experience, having been Deputy Leader of Huntindonshire District Council until his recent move to Lincolnshire. I know he will bring a considerable amount of talent and experience together with Conservative colleagues on East Lindsey District Council."
