Dozens of guests have attended the Association's annual Constituency Dinner, held at Hemswell Court, Lancaster Green, Hemswell.
Upon arrival guests, who looked splendid in their evening wear, were welcomed in to the Ball Room by Chairman, Mrs. Stephanie Rouse and were invited to enjoy a Chambord Royal cocktail, a flute of sparkling elderflower or orange juice. Parliamentarian Sir Edward Leigh MP circulated with other guests including party members, CF activists, district & county councillors and other supporters for almost an hour at the preprandial drinks reception.
A little before eight o'clock guests were invited to take their seats for dinner. Cllr. Marc Jones, the Conservative Prospetive Police and Crime Commissioner Candidate for Lincolnshire, provided grace. Guests enjoyed a delicious menu of a crown of puff pastry filled with fresh seafood and mango mayonnaise; followed by Roast Lincolnshire belly pork with golden crackling and a sweet bramley apple sauce, sat upon a bacon and cabbage mash potato served with seasonal vegetables and new potatoes. For dessert guests enjoyed rhubarb and apple crumble with ginger stem ice cream. East Lindsey District Council portfolio holder for Finance, Cllr. Nick Guyatt – who was elected to the Wragby ward in May’s local elections – made the loyal toast. To follow guests enjoyed coffee or tea and chocolates.
Mrs. Stephanie Rouse introduced special guest speaker Mrs Victoria Atkins MP who spoke about becoming a new parliamentarian, wryly observing that Sir Edward had probably not been able to talk about becoming a new MP for some time. Mrs. Atkins took questions from Mr. Thomson, Cllr. Smith, Cllr. Summers, Mr. Maughn and Cllr. Strange. Sir Edward Leigh provided a Vote of Thanks.
