Four Dozen Members and Supporters of the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association have enjoyed the final Supper Club of 2016 at the Hichman Hill Hotel, Gainsborough.
The Christmas Supper Club is always popular and on this occasion was at capacity. Grace was provided by Cllr. Lewis Strange, who represents the Ancholme Cliff Division on Lincolnshire County Council and Kelsey Wold Division on West Lindsey District Council. Guests enjoyed a three course festive menu of either butternut squash soup or mixed fruits, with a strawberry coulis, to start followed by traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings or baked salmon with sauce vierge, vegetarians were able to enjoy a mushroom and tarragon strudel with a port sauce. For dessert guests could choose from Christmas pudding with brandy sauce or apple and mulled wine crumble this was followed by Tea or Coffee with homemade mince pies.
John Burke Esq., Her Majesty's Deputy Lord-Lieutenant in Lincolnshire provided the loyal toast. Mr. Ashley Perraton-Williams, the Association’s Chairman, introduced Sir Edward Leigh, our very own Member of Parliament, provided a rousing address to conclude the evening. He spoke of looking forward to the opportunities presented by the referendum decision in June to leave the European Union and the importance of the coming Local Election Campaigns to Lincolnshire County Council next May.
Cllr. Roger Patterson, the Association’s Deputy Chairman (Political), provided a vote of thanks at the conclusion of the supper.
