The Member of Parliament for Gainsborough, Sir Edward Leigh MP, who's constituency includes the village of Keelby, has written to the Chief Executive of Lincolnshire County Council regarding the 60mph speed limit on the A18 which passes Keelby.
The A18 is known to be a dangerous stretch of road which has taken a number of lives over recent years.
Sir Edward has met with local residents at a recent constituency surgery, including local resident Graham Richardson, of tow-bars 2 tow-cars garage, who want the speed limit reduced to 50mph. Sir Edward Leigh said:
"I have been pleased to meet Graham Richardson and other local residents on this matter. I have written to the Tony McArdle, the Chief Executive of Lincolnshire County Council, requesting that action is taken to reduce the speed limit to 50mph.
"Often residents tell me how concerned they are about speeding in danger spots like this one I am happy to support this campaign to make sure that the lives of the residents of Keelby, and the wider community, are as safe as they can be on Lincolnshire's roads."
