The Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association are delighted to have selected a first-class, local candidate, for the forthcoming by-election on Thursday, 27th July, for the Scotter and Blyton ward vacancy on West Lindsey District Council.

Mr. Ashley Perraton-Williams, Chairman of the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association, was pleased to announce that Mr. Bruce Allison had been selected as the local Conservative Party Candidate. He said:

“Bruce is a dedicated, local and hardworking individual who has all the qualities to really deliver for local people on the district council. He is passionate about the local area and ensuring that rural communities are not left behind, building the resilience of local communities to face future challenges. I know that supporting Bruce is the only way local residents will get the district councillor they need.”

Bruce, commenting on his selection as the Conservative candidate, said:

“I am proud to be a candidate in the West Lindsey District Council by-election for the Scotter & Blyton ward on Thursday, 27th July 2017. I look forward to meeting and speaking with as many local residents as possible and I hope they will be kind enough to support me. Local Conservatives have a strong track record delivering for the district and I want to be part of that team, keeping the Council Tax low, getting the super-fast broadband coverage we need, protecting communities from unsuitable development and to making West Lindsey is a place where people want to visit, enjoy and discover. I promise to listen to local residents’ concerns and get action on the shared challenges we face.”

The Leader of West Lindsey District Council, Cllr. Jeff Summers, added:

“Conservatives are proud to be leading the way at West Lindsey District Council.

“We have a cohesive and energetic team of councillors at West Lindsey within our ruling Conservative Group. I hope that local people will add Bruce to our team, so that local views from the communities of the Scotter & Blyton ward are heard. Bruce will bring an invaluable strength of knowledge and experience to our council, strengthening our community commitments for all.”

Adam Duguid, whose resignation – to ensure that local people continue to be properly represented on the district council, as his and the council’s business interests have started to align – caused the vacancy on the council, hopes that Bruce will be his successor, he said:

“Bruce is the right candidate to succeed me, he is intelligent and dedicated, having served as a policeman, a local school governor and parish councillor, I know he'll make a great district councillor for the Scotter & Blyton ward.”
