An array of home-made desserts were also available for guest to indulge in including trifle, a classic and lemoncello tiramisu, banoffee pie, honeycomb cheesecake, as well as a substantial cheese board.
Guests listened to Erik Grigg from the Collection, in Lincoln. He spoke about the blood, guts and gore that are the background of the Magna Carta.
Cllr. Giles McNeill, who represents the Nettleham Ward on West Lindsey District Council, said:
"This has been an excellent event. The branch always puts on a good occasion and this is no exception. It is good to see many friends, and also new faces; including our excellent new councillor Mrs. Pat Mewis, who joined us from the other side of the district."
