Sheila has been an active member of the Party for over 40 years and from 1982-1992 worked as a Conservative Party Agent in various constituencies around the country. Since retirement and her move to Gainsborough in 2013, she has been a member of the local Gainsborough Branch, served as both the Deputy Chairman Political and now as Deputy Chairman Membership & Finance for the Gainsborough Constituency Conservative Association, and is currently employed part-time by them as the Organising Secretary. She served as a West Lindsey District Councillor from 2015-2019. She is also a member of the Lincolnshire Area Management Executive and the Regional Deputy Chairman Membership & Finance for the East Midlands Region.

Apart from her political interests, Sheila is one of the Directors of a local Community Interest Company which supports those with Disabilities of all types, as well as giving support to their carers and families. She is also part of a local group which supports Ukranian Refugees in the West Lindsey area, and holds positions within her church community. Additionally, she loves to spend time where possible with her children & grandchildren. She is an avid reader, a lover of music and travel. She also does a considerable amount of genealogical work.
