Job Title: Campaign Volunteer
Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Salary: An unpaid opportunity to volunteer in the Association’s Office and support the activities of the Association
Job Details: The role is a voluntary one. As such, there are no set hours nor binding responsibilities and you are free to come and go as you wish. This document should not be construed to be any form of job description it has been designed to set out some information which may be of assistance for you.
The Conservative Party is a voluntary organisation. All political parties fundamentally depend on the hard work offered by volunteers who share the aims and values of the Party. Where we ask for volunteers to join our campaigning team, they are treated entirely as volunteers, not workers. There is no obligation on them to work. Such involvement is a great way to get a new generation involved in politics and our democratic process.
The Association office is not manned on a full-time basis so you are requested to come to the office by agreement, when convenient to you, for contact with the Organising Secretary and Administrative Assistant, use of the office’s equipment and supplies. You will be based in our office in Gainsborough (four minutes walk from Gainsborough Bus Station), and will gain an insight into a political campaign environment, with its fast changing priorities.
This post is unremunerated and no expenses will be paid for travel or food costs; an exception may be made for other items where agreed to in advance by the Organising Secretary.
Working with our staff, elected representatives and other volunteers, you will be involved in supporting the Association’s activities.
Activities you could be involved with:
- Campaign literature production and distribution
- Management of volunteers
- Necessary research and data entry
- Fundraising activities
- Campaign strategy and stakeholder engagement
Skills and capabilities:
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be self-motivated
- Have an eye for detail
- Be IT literate
- Have knowledge of, and sympathy for, the aims and policies of the Conservative Party
